Florida backyard, so I've tried everything. Staked it by the patio, flipped it to auto and forgot about it. Came out the next morning expecting nothing — the tray told a different story. We've eaten dinner outside every night since. The zap sound is weirdly satisfying.
What sold me was no chemicals. When the grandkids visit I used to coat them in repellent before they could go play. Now this thing just sits in the flower bed doing its job and nobody smells like bug spray at the dinner table.
First spot I picked was under a big maple and it only ran a few hours a night. Moved it to the sunny side of the yard and now it goes all evening. Docking a star because I had to figure that out myself — put the panel in direct sun and you're golden.
