Bought this after years of breaking trimmer line every time I edged my chain link fence. First time using this thing along the fence line and… nothing. No snapping, no rewinding, no swearing. Cut the whole perimeter in one pass. My wife asked why I was outside laughing alone.
I was buying 4–5 spools of line every summer at $15–20 a pop. Did the math last week — this thing has already paid for itself three times. And I'm not stopping every 10 minutes to feed line out anymore. Should've bought one years ago.
My husband always handled the trimmer because I could never figure out how to wind the spool. After he passed last year, I had to learn everything myself. Half acre with a serious blackberry problem along the back fence. Regular line wouldn't even touch it — I'd snap 3 feet of line in one swing. This thing went through it like nothing. Not pretty work, but the brush is gone and the trimmer is fine.
I used to have to bump-feed every 30 seconds when edging the driveway. With this, I edged the entire driveway and both sidewalks without stopping. My back thanks you. Only knocking it down to 4 stars because shipping took longer than expected, but the product itself is fantastic.
Bump-feed on my Ryobi died about 6 months ago and I've been doing the manual unscrew-and-pull-line dance every time I trim. Saw an ad for this and figured worst case I'm out 25 bucks. It just works. Threw the old spool head in the garage. I doubt I'll ever use it again.
Honest review: I was about 5 minutes from chucking my Husqvarna into the ditch behind my barn before this showed up. Nothing was working — line breaking, line tangling, line not feeding. Bolted this on Saturday morning. Cleared the whole property by lunch. I owe this thing my marriage.
Took 30 seconds to install. I'm 67 and not particularly mechanical and even I had no trouble. The first time I used it I literally said "oh" out loud because of how much easier it was. No more dreading yard day.
